A woman in Bengaluru, India, was shocked by the way a dental hygieneist in her neighbourhood was accused in a cartoon on the internet of raping a woman he met at a coffee shop.
The cartoonist, Shravakrishnan, told the Hindustan Times newspaper that he had been trying to seduce a woman named Ravi, a dentist, after a drink at a local coffee shop on April 6.
The incident took place during a meeting between Ravi and his dental hygerineist friend, who was in a car with them, according to Ravi.
The two men had just finished a coffee-shop visit, when they got into an argument over Ravi’s behaviour.
“I have to leave, so I decide to get into a car and take Ravi out to the coffee shop,” Ravi said.
The argument escalated when the hygeneist’s friend threatened to beat Ravi up if he didn’t stop talking.
“So I start punching him, and then I start slapping him,” Ravis told the Times of Indian.
“Then, I realise that I have been hit.
I see his face.
And then I hear a bang.
“My jaw dropped. “
I was shocked, and I cried. “
My jaw dropped.
The woman told the paper that she was shocked that a dentist would be accused of this kind of thing, but she didn’t think it would happen to her. “
They were very polite, they didn’t touch me or anything,” Ravan added.
The woman told the paper that she was shocked that a dentist would be accused of this kind of thing, but she didn’t think it would happen to her.
“It was really shocking,” she said.
But I don’t think that’s the case here. “
But if the dentist was a good person, he would not be accused.
But I don’t think that’s the case here.
I am worried that this kind [of] thing could happen to other women in the future.”
Ravi is now considering a complaint against the dentist.
“Ravi is a good dentist, but he does have a bad habit of taking advantage of people, and people do not deserve to be attacked by this dentist,” said Ravi after the incident.
He added that the man has been suspended from the practice, and that the woman has also filed a complaint with the police against him.
“If this incident happens again, I will file a complaint.
I will be filing a police complaint,” he said.
